The Lich is a great first or second Hero mainly for his Frost Nova ability. Now, Liches wield frost magic along with their own considerable necromantic spells. Since the Liches showed unswerving loyalty to their master, Ner'zhul granted them control over the furious elements of the cold north. These Liches possessed tremendous magical powers, yet their immortal, undead bodies were bound to the iron will of Ner'zhul. Yet, when these wicked sorcerers were captured by Kil'jaeden and the Legion after the destruction of Draenor, they were transformed into twisted aberrations of their former selves. What are you hoping to achieve? Why not just spend the same amount of GCDs actually doing damage to the mobs while they crawl through your blizzard, and save your blinks and nova to disengage once they get in melee, if you even need to by that point? Why aren't you opening with blizzard to begin with? Spinning up a cast time skill followed by an instant cast is more efficient than first aggroing the mobs with an instant cast and then scrambling to find a way to position your blizzard.During his mortal life as the Warchief of the Orcish Horde of Draenor Ner'zhul commanded a number of Orcish Warlocks and Shamans. Why would you switch to using an inefficient rotation all of a sudden? Do you also swap to only spamming tiger palm on your monk when mobs get to you? Probably not.īlink into the group, frost nova, blink out of the group, Once they get to me, I just hit ice lance even without procs in hopes that I kill it before it kills me Frost/fire/arcane ward, mirror images, greater invis, ice block among others.Īrcane is the better spec for leveling due to higher on demand burst and frontloading all the damage instead of having to wait for procs. What do you mean by not having damage mitigation? Of course it's not warlock tier, but mages have enough. Should I be using more defensive spells? Please help! What could I do better? I don't think I'm using icy veins or any of the other cooldowns as much as I should. The mobs all break out before they can get hit with the blizzard (rendering it pointless) and that's when I have to hit ice block to heal up and pray that I have a slowing ability ready. I know it does little damage, but I'm usually out of frost nova and casting frost bolt seems like it would take too long.įor multi-target, I send out a frozen orb, blink into the group, frost nova, blink out of the group, and begin casting blizzard. Once they get to me, I just hit ice lance even without procs in hopes that I kill it before it kills me. Sometimes I kill mobs before they reach me, but they usually whack me before I get the chance to. ![]() I've read the Icy Veins and WoWHead guides for single target and AoE rotations, but I keep dying or at least feel like I could be doing much better.įor single target, I make sure I have my water elemental out, then start with frost bolt, flurry on proc, and ice lance on proc. I read that Frost is the preferred spec, so I switched into that. I started out as Fire because I love the feel of chaining crits, but I felt super squishy. I've only ever played hybrid classes, so it's been tough not having heals or damage mitigation on my mage.
